Jacques left this Saks Fifth Avenue and Stuart Weitzman New York Times Ad on my desk with a nice letter on our history with a similar style:
“This evening strappy sandal by Stuart Weitzman at Saks brings back lots of memories.
First, Stuart was a good friend, competitor and co-benefactor of charities with my son Harold Levine, who died too young. When Stuart decided to close his American Factory, Harold drove up to Massachusetts and purchased a trailer load of equipment and materials that Stuart did not want to take to Spain.
Second, our family created a wide range of glitter fabrics and leathers that this advertisement would lead me to believe are coming back into style this season. This shape is also one of our earlier innovations as I made one of the first sandals with a criss-cross instep strap, and firm back strap, offering unique comfort qualities to this usually difficult fitting style.
